Annex 15 requires each contracting state to provide Aeronautical Information Service (AIS).

The responsibilities and functions of AIS are as follows: -

  1. Ensure that aeronautical data and aeronautical information necessary for the safety, regularity and efficiency of air navigation are made available in a form suitable for the operational requirements of the Air Traffic Management (ATM) community.
  2. Receive, collate or assemble, edit, format, publish/store and distribute aeronautical data and aeronautical information concerning the entire territory of the State as well as those areas over the high seas for which the State is responsible for the provision of Air Traffic Services (ATS).
